Geopolitics of War: How Russia's Invasion into Ukraine Changed the World
The conflict has significantly reshaped the geopolitical landscape
Since Vladimir Putin ordered his tanks across the Ukrainian frontier a year ago, little has gone to plan. Russia’s blitzkrieg failed and the conflict became bogged down in months of grinding stalemate before Ukraine launched successful counter-offensives in the east and south. The outcome of the war remains highly uncertain, and Mr Putin is under pressure. Western countries have pledged billions of dollars worth of high-tech weapons to Ukraine. The conflict has significantly reshaped the geopolitical landscape: shifting alliances, acceleration of the global arms race, food and energy security, "resurrection" of NATO, role of China and more.
